During the Academic Year:
The Main Library is open to the general public from 8:00am to 6:00pm weekdays and 10:00am to 6:00pm on Saturday during the academic year and intersession periods.
During Summer Session:
The Main Library is open to the general public from 8:00am to 6:00pm on weekdays and 10:00am to 6:00pm on Saturday and Sunday during the 8-week Summer Session.

All hours that the library is open outside of these times are restricted to NU University affiliates and patrons who have a Borrower's Card or Alumni Association Card. For information about obtaining a Borrower's card or Alumni Association card, please contact the Library Privileges office in person at the Circulation Desk, or by phone at (847) 491-7617.
Users of Depository Collections in the Government and Geographic Information and Data Services Department and in the Transportation Library can enter the Main Library building any time those departments are open.
